Green Secret Sauce

by Katie April 13, 2020

This Green Secret Sauce is the cousin of the infamous Green Goddess Dressing. Between the tangy zing from the lime and the subtle hint of heat of the jalapeño, this is a refreshing sauce that can accompany any meal. Not only is this sauce loaded with flavor, it is also loaded with great hidden medicinal nutrients. All of these herbs, spices, and healthy fats contain some form of an anti-inflammatory property to support health and longevity.

Cilantro

Parsley

Garlic

Lime

Olive oil

Avocado

Jalapeño

But, what I love the most about all these herbs, spices, and health fats, is when they are all put together they create sunshine on a plate. In all seriousness, there is something to be said for when an ingredient, sauce, component of a meal, or even the meal itself brings such pure joy. When our bodies are under stress it is hard to process and take up those nutrients. However, when we are excited or just in a good ‘ol mood, we are better able to take up and utilize what is being given to our bodies.

My challenge to you: find that recipe or dish that makes you excited to get in the kitchen and cook!

This Green Secret Sauce goes well with:

Grilled protein and vegetables

Fish

Eggs

Pasta salad (loaded with veggies, of course)

Spread on toast

Topped on roasted root veg – plantains, potatoes, parsnips, carrots, etc

Topped on grain bowls
